Soldiers of Christ-New to Rejoicify

Lavon Wideman and the inspiring men’s vocal group Soldiers of Christ are known for their sincere vocals and soul-stirring gospel message. Lavon lives in southwestern Ontario with his wife, Janice, and their daughter, Janae. His love for music began early in life, experimenting with a handheld microphone and a simple computer recording program as a young boy. By age 12, he was recording solo songs, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for music and ministry. In 2017, Lavon joined his brothers and cousins to form Soldiers of Christ, releasing their debut album in 2018.

In addition to his work with Soldiers of Christ, Lavon continues to record music on his own and with friends. His solo album, Eternal Source of Joys Divine, showcases years of reflective recordings made between 2014 and 2022. We are currently featuring the Soldiers of Christ album Let the Light Shine On in the Rejoicify app, an uplifting collection that invites listeners to experience hope and encouragement through timeless gospel songs. Lavon is also a composer and arranger of hymns, many of which reflect his deep faith and reverence for sacred music.
